Akrýl og vatnslitur á bómull og bómullarpappír, tvílit filma, vatn, stál, hljóð

Verkin eru ummerki marglaga dansandi hljóðheims, í formi tilrauna í málverki. Mjúkir taktar leiða pensilinn um bómullarstrigann og strokurnar fylgja tónunum þar til úr verður málverk. Þungir taktar hvetja mig til að sleppa takinu og eyðileggja, svo að léttari tónar geti tekið við og leitt mig að verkinu á nýjan hátt.

Verkin endurspegla forvitni mína gagnvart takmörkum og samspils efna — bómullar, plasts, vatns — og togstreitunnar á milli þeirra. Ég skoða viðveru vatns í málverkunum og sýni afrakstur tilrauna með samspil náttúrulegra efna og gerviefna. Takmarkanir birtast í formi rammans sem afmarkar verkin og tímalengdar laganna sem ég hlusta á við vinnuna.

The works bear traces of a layered, dancing soundscape in the form of painterly experiments. Soft rhythms guide the brush across the cotton surface, and the strokes follow the tones until they become a painting. Heavier rhythms urge me to let go and disrupt the work, allowing lighter tones to take over and lead me back to it in a new way.

The works reflect my curiosity about the limits and interplay of materials—cotton, plastic, water—and the tension between them. I explore the presence of water within the paintings and present the results of experiments with the interaction between natural and synthetic materials. Constraints appear in the form of the frame that defines the works and the duration of the tracks I listen to while working.
