This collection celebrates diverse expressions of femininity through a playful lens.  I explore the concept of ‘alternative femininity’; an idea that challenges the narrow standards of beauty and femininity imposed by hegemonic values. Using the Victorian era—characterized by its restrictive norms and exclusivity—as a starting point, the collection manipulates familiar motifs and elements to convey a rough, raw, and unruly energy; encouraging a dialogue that embraces individuality and creativity while promoting discourse surrounding the oppressive and exclusive standards upheld by hegemonic ideals.
