The Icelandic landscape is something I have never witnessed before, I’m from the Netherlands where everything is flat and sandy. The rural, beautiful and harsh nature asks for protection and shelter to survive in. The textiles and designs people wear to in these fantastical landscapes are extremely modern and calculated. I wanted to use these materials to create more classic silhouettes and let a certain asymmetry appear in the use of textiles. I have used tents, sleeping bags, jacket linings and waterproof materials.
