Fjórar tölvur innihalda allar reiknifræðileg líkön af heilanum í flugu. Líkön sem að notuð eru til þess að líkja eftir tilfinningalífi ávaxtaflugu. Hver einasti heili er látinn finna stanslaus sársaukaboð. Viðbrögðunum sem að hann gefur frá sér er breytt í hljóð og spilað á hátalara tölvunar. Takkinn fyrir framan tölvuna stoppar sársaukaboðin og þar afleiðandi hljóðið. En bara svo lengi sem að honum er haldið niðri.

Computer art

Four computers are running a simulation of fruit fly brains. In the simulation, the brains are exposed to constant painful stimulation. The pain this creates is turned into sound, which can be heard through the computer’s speakers. There is a button that when pressed stops the stimulation, but it only works while you keep it pressed down. As soon as it is let go, the stimulation and the sound return.
