Ég held að ég sé med heimþrá. Ég sé japönsk tákn allt um kring í hverfinu mínu í Reykjavík. Ég safna þessum formum og skráset þau. Ég tek þau saman, endurraða þeim og leik mér með þau til að byggja brú á milli Japan og Íslands. Í bókinni býð ég fólki að taka þátt í þessu með mér. Bókin er byggð upp af þremur hlutum: Að finna, Að umbreyta og Endurbyggja og miðla. Uppsetningin endurspeglar sjónarhornið mitt, það að vera með heimþrá á Íslandi og sjá heimalandið mitt Japan og móðurmál birtast mér hér í óvæntu samhengi í Reykjavík. Hvað sérð þú í þessu nýja umhverfi?

(New neighborhood) 

I think I miss home so much. I see Japanese language characters (symbols) and shapes all around in my neighborhood in Reykjavík. I first collected these shapes and documented them. Then, I rearranged and played with those characters to make a kind of bridge between Japan and Iceland. In the book I’ve made, I invite people to join me on this journey. The book consists of 3 parts: Find, Convert and Rebuild and Communicate. The layout of the book represents my own perspective, observing Iceland through the lens of homesickness and seeing my home, Japan, and its language in the new context here in Reykjavík. What do you see in this new neighborhood?
