Samhengi welcomes Iulia Toma Friday, November 21. In her lecture titled Musicians’ Health, Iulia will discuss the topic of musicians’ well-being 

Iulia Toma brings unique dual expertise as both a pianist-educator and medical professional. For seven years, she has taught piano, accompaniment, and chamber music at the Faculty of Music and Theatre (FMT), West University of Timișoara (Romania). Iulia is also in her medical residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Municipal Emergency Clinical Hospital in Timisoara (Romania). Her PhD (summa cum laude) bridged piano performance and pianists’ health, leading her to establish Romania’s first musicians’ health course at university level in FMT. Through research, publications, workshops for music schools, universities, and philharmonic orchestras, she champions injury-free performance. This rare combination of musical mastery and medical knowledge drives her passionate advocacy for musicians’ wellbeing.
