Þann 18. apríl kl. 20 sameinast í Salnum í Kópavogi nokkrir af fremstu harmoniku- og bandóneonleikurum heims Prof. Dr. Klaudiusz Baran (Pólland), Prof. Raimondas Sviackevičius (Litháen), Prof. Giuseppe Scigliano (Ítalía), German Khlopin (Ísland) ásamt sellóleikaranum Steiney Sigurðardóttur og kvartettinum Icelandic Strings. Saman flytja þau tónverk meistara Astor Piazzolla sem skapaði Tango Nuevo og gjörbreytti heimsmynd tangósins.

Á efnisskrá tónleikanna eru sum fegurstu og þekktustu verk Piazzolla; Libertango, Oblivion, Adios Nonino, Le Grand Tango og fleiri. Kynnir kvöldsins er Paolo Picchio, einn fremsti Piazzollafræðingur heims.

Þetta er einstakt tækifæri til að upplifa harmonikuna og bandóneonið í höndum meistaranna.

Tónleikarnir eru samstarf Listaháskóla Íslands við Salinn Tónlistarhús.

On 18 April, Salurinn in Kópavogur will bring together some of the world’s foremost accordion and bandoneon players; Prof. Dr. Klaudiusz Baran (Poland), Prof. Raimondas Sviackevičius (Lithuania), Prof. Giuseppe Scigliano (Italy) and German Khlopin (Iceland), alongside cellist Steiney Sigurðardóttir and the Icelandic Strings quartet. Together they will perform works by the great Astor Piazzolla, who created Tango Nuevo and forever transformed the world of tango.

The programme features some of Piazzolla’s most beautiful and celebrated works: Libertango, Oblivion, Adiós Nonino, Le Grand Tango and more. The evening will be hosted by Paolo Picchio, one of the world’s leading Piazzolla scholars.

This is a rare opportunity to experience the accordion and bandoneon in the hands of the world finest players.

The concert is a collaboration between the Iceland University of the Arts and Salurinn Concert Hall.
