Ísar Ágúst Kristjánsson

Mitt í Sandgerði, milli tveggja svæða sem klífa bæinn í sundur líkt og tveir jarðskorpuflekar má finna grænt svæði sem skiptir bænum í tvennt endilangt. Á milli svæðanna er gróið einskismannsland en mitt í miðju þess opnast það út á við og teygir sig utan um slökkvistöð og gamlan skúr björgunarsveitar.
Innan þess svæðis rísa kynslóðahús sem ramma inn græna svæðið og hýsa fjölbreyttar og ólíkar fjölskyldur þar sem nokkrar kynslóðir koma saman og búa undir einu þaki. Kynslóðahúsin eru vettvangur samveru og samvistar fjölskyldna en græna svæðið umhverfis þau er vettvangur allra íbúa Sandgerðis til að tengjast sterkari böndum.

Right in the middle of Sandgerði there exists a strange back alley that evenly divides the town in two, like tectonic plates that slowly drift apart. The grassy corridor that leads throughout the town from north to south opens up into an open field at its centre and wraps around a fire station and an old disused boatshed.
On the outskirts of this no-man’s land a group of multigenerational homes will rise and become home to different families and generations living together under the
same roof. The multigenerational homes represent a symbiosis within families while the open field beyond represents one between all the residents of Sandgerði.
