The school is unique internationally in that the curriculum reflects almost all arts despite the fact that there are relatively few students the Iceland University of the Arts is the only university in the field of art in Iceland and therefore has a broad role to play towards the nation The school operates in an international environment and targets those schools in neighboring countries that are considered to excel in teaching and sharing knowledge in the fields of art.
