Exchange studies from LHÍ

Going on an exchange program is a unique opportunity to gain a new perspective and get to know another nation's culture and society Students who go on an exchange program have the opportunity to form new relationships that may last a long time or even a lifetime.

It is clear that those who choose the path of going on an exchange program are more experienced when it comes to applying for postgraduate studies or other jobs abroad later in life. Furthermore, ever-increasing demands are made for experience and participation in international cooperation in the European labor market.

Students of the University of the Arts can apply for an exchange program and have it evaluated for credits as part of their program. Students in the BA program must have completed at least 60 credits before the exchange program begins, while students in the MA program at least 30. Note that it varies depending on the subject whether an exchange program is available and in which semester and/or year. Consult your professional director if you intend to go on an exchange program.

Exchange programs are assessed for credits as part of a student's degree at a home school According to Erasmus's contracts, exchange students always pay home school tuition fees and not a visiting school.

The application deadline for applying for an exchange program in the spring semester is September 15, and for an exchange program in the fall semester/full academic year is February 15. You can apply to up to three schools.

The Iceland Academy of the Arts has cooperation agreements with a number of schools in the Nordic countries and in Europe. Click on the link below to see which schools we have contracts with. Use the filters in the search engine to get schools by subject, study level and country.
