Transformation of Life// Bjarki Höjgaard

Bjarki Höjgaard
Solo exhibition in Hulduland
Opening October 3, 5 pm-7 pm

My first encounter with death was losing my grandfather when I was twelve, but then I didn't understand what death really was Then I lost my grandmother a few years ago I then worked in a nursing home this summer and then had some experience at death except in a more impersonal way, there I sometimes took care of dying people Afterwards, I went to look at tombstones, cemeteries and the culture that surrounds death.
I have long found death interesting It is mysterious, important, definitive, horrible and soothing in a bizarre wayI think it is important to take advantage of this discomfort, to face death, in something constructive To give it more weight to life by remembering death.
In this exhibition, death is examined through the painting, with the physical and biological part of death in the foreground.

The paintings in this exhibition are painted from photographs of real bodies.

9000 IS THE SUBJECT OF THE SUBJECT OF THE SUBJECT OF THE SUBJECT OF THE SUBJECT OF THE SUBJECT.

My first encounter with death was losing my grandfather when I was twelve years old, but at that time, I understood little what death really was. A few years later I lost my grandmother. I then worked in a nursing home this summer and gained a more imperial experience with death, as I moments care for dying people. After that, I begin to explore graves, cemeteries, and the culture surfacing death.
I have long found death to be fascinating. It is mysterious, important, final, terrifying, and calming in a strange way. I think it's important to use this discomfort, to confront death, in a constructive way. To give life more meaning by remembering death.
In this exhibition, death is studied through painting, where the physical and biological aspects of death are at the forefront.

The paintings in this exhibition are painted from photographs of real corpses.
