Frequently asked questions regarding application and admission to LHÍ 

  • What is a certified copy of a diploma? 

    A certified copy of the diploma/learning process, is a document from the school from which the applicant graduated The document must be a scanned original or certified copy with a stamp and signature from the relevant school office, stating a list of courses, credits and grades. 

  • I don't meet the admission requirements, can I still apply? 

    Admission to the school may be granted to applicants with knowledge and experience
    which is considered adequate preparation for bachelor's studies at the school.
    Applicants who do not meet the general admission requirements can apply for an exemption if they have
    completed, for example, numerous credits at secondary school level, completed other final exams such as on 4.
    qualification level or have other preparation that can prepare the person for studies on
    university level in the relevant study path. Applications for exemption from general
    admission requirements are assessed by professionals within the relevant department The result of the assessment of
    exemption applications are final. When evaluating applications, synergistic factors are considered
    regarding grades in studies at secondary school level, education in arts, further education,
    work experience and participation in social work Each case is examined separately and can interact
    these factors affected the outcome Applicants are encouraged to account for all of it
    which they believe may be subject to their application for exemption from general admission requirements
    progress.
    Admission committees evaluate applications based on submitted data as well as interviews and/or entrance exams
    the fields that apply. The dean appoints an admissions committee for each study path in consultation with
    professional managers and admissions committees work according to the procedures presented to applicants.
  • I graduate after the application deadline has passed and I don't have a diploma. What do I do? 

    A course sheet can be submitted from the office of the school the applicant is studying at, showing the academic progress and confirmation of the planned graduation The data is uploaded to the application form A diploma must then be submitted to the school in June if the applicant is admitted. 

  • How much does it cost to study at the University of the Arts and where is it paid?

    Applicants who are offered a place at the school pay a registration fee in the application portal, under the - Overview of applications tab.  

  • Where do I access IDs for learning systems?  

    The ID to the school's learning systems (Owl, Canvas, etc.) is retrieved from the application portal once the registration fee has been paid An applicant who has been accepted into the school and pays the registration fee will automatically check in after payment of the registration fee in the application portal Once the payment has been made, a tab will appear in the application portal where the person must retrieve their identity (username and password).  

  • At what times does teaching take place? 

    Studying at the University of the Arts is a local program and is taught during daytime hours with exceptions at individual programs Attendance is compulsory at the University of the Arts. 

  • How do the semesters be divided during the school year?
