What effect does the presence of a guardian have on a young child in a new situation? specifically an acting course.
My thesis examines the impact of a guardian's presence on the experiences and involvement of young children in new situations In order to study it, I prepared a small acting course and invited several first grade children and their guardian to join The study is a qualitative staff study where data was obtained in various ways.
Results suggest that the presence of a guardian can both increase safety and affect independent participation of children, or have the opposite effect but the outcome lies in the nature of communication between them Children who were encouraged and space for independent participation were more actively involved, while excessive intervention or lack of support reduced participation.
