About the piece

Traces of Places

The Adventures of the Nervous Soprano

A multi genre concert with the soprano and cellist, Ólöf Valsdóttir of live and recorded music and visual art, in collaboration with other artists. This concert is Ólöf's diary; based on her life, memories and stories from different places she lived in and studied. Iceland, Italy and the US are among those places where she performed and recorded with classical, pop and jazz musicians, mixed with improvisational compositions.

Ólöf embodies the nervous soprano, jealous and passive women - themes that have been there all the time as in Ólöf's childhood drawings. Now these themes become the extential figure for her multi media concert.
