FILMA 2026 took place to a great reception and the number of guests far exceeded expectations The hall was buzzing with life and the atmosphere was unique every night.
The students of the department took pictures on the previous two nights, but the photographer Eygló Gísladóttir captured the mood at the final show. Below you can see a fragment of the atmosphere created during the festival.
We would like to thank Bíó Paradís very much for their friendly cooperation and wish the students and staff of the film art department the best of luck with a wonderful festival.
We end with the words of Steven Meyer, dean of the Department of Cinematography:
„In all this work, countless emotions and perspectives are exposed, creating real moments of connection and understanding, joy and sorrow, hope and fear. We're immensely proud of our students and thrilled to share their work with you".
Despite uncertainties in the world and in our industry, we can be assured that the future of Icelandic cinema is in good hands.
We look forward to seeing you at FILM 2027!
