Bjørk Bregendahl, a graduate student in fashion design, won the first Kiosk Award for his graduation project leifar /ˈleiːvar/ (e. vestige /ˈvɛstɪdʒ/). The award was presented at the opening of the Graduation Exhibition in Architecture, Design and Art in Reykjavík Art Museum. The award is a new incentive award designed to support newly graduated designers in taking their first steps into the Icelandic design market.
The winner receives advice on the production and implementation of a product line as well as being allowed to sell their products for six weeks in Kiosk's store free of charge or commission. If things go well, there is a possibility of continued cooperation.
It was the fashion designers Helga Lilja Magnúsdóttir and Eygló Margrét Lárusdóttir who awarded the award. Helga Lilja works under the labels Helicopter and BAHN'S and Eygló under the label EYGLO.
Kiosk has been operating since 2010 and is today home to 14 Icelandic designers, where fringe design and innovation have flourished.
