The Dragon and the Peak

Katrín Edda Lan Þórólfsdóttir
Solo exhibition in Kubb
17 October 17:00-19:00

I've always known I'm adopted and it's never hurt me I'm grateful for everything life has given me but it would be a lie to say my origins don't trigger a few questions.

In this exhibition, I'm looking at the origins and unification of two culturesI'm exploring what it means to be adopted and to experience another reality, like one is missing something. How it is to experience closely related to something one does not know.

The ink flows and forms a world, both familiar and new, exotic and beautiful Against the brushstrokes, I see the nature of my hometown in a new light.

I've always known I was adopted and it has never bothered me. I am thankful for all that life has given me but it would be a lie to say that I've never wondered about my origins.

In this exhibition I am looking at origins and the marking of two cultures. I am exploring what it means to be adopted and to experience a different reality, as if you are missing something. What it's like to experience being closed to something you don't know.

The ink flows and forms a world, both familiar and new, exotic and beautiful. Through the brushstrokes, I see the nature of my hometown in a new light.
