About the project

Water changes shapes in different situations without losing its material properties Viscous is an experiment of impermanent material form Methodology and tools are designed to bend standard sizes of steel plates without irreversible effects on the strength or material properties of the steel plates The project revolves around designing with the material and material properties without degrading its strength The plates are bent at its lowest limit, so that the material retains form with the least amount of stress without harming or reducing strength The methodology allows the steel plates to retain the same properties as before so that the material still has the potential to be converted into other forms, similar to the transformable properties of water.

Water changes form under different conditions while retaining its material properties. Viscous is a material exploration of impermanence in material formation. The methodology and tool are designed for gesture standardized steel sheets without compromising their strength. The project revolves around design with the material properties, limits and behavior. Viscous influences to create and hold a curved shape, with the least amount of straining without causing damage, or reducing the quality.
