On Friday the 31st of March at 13:00 an open lecture by Sigrún Inga Hrólfsdóttir will be held at the department of fine art, Laugarnesvegur 91.

Hrólfsdóttir is one of three founders of the artists group The Icelandic Love Corporation. Their work varies in scale and medium originally deriving from performance art. They play with diverse ideas, materials, structures and symbols, to explore the integral systems and invisible rules of society. The Icelandic Love Corporation has exhibited world wide and their work is included in all major public collections of Iceland, as well as private collections home and abroad. The Icelandic Love Corporation most recent solo show at ARoS, Aarhus Art Museum, is called Love Conquers All, after their original slogan. The Icelandic Love Corporation was shortlisted as the Icelandic representative for the Venice Biennial 2016.

Sigrún has also worked on art individually. Working in different media she explores the intangible realm of emotions, and the interplay of the inner world and the personal with the outer world of others, ideas, symbols and materials on a broad spectrum. Sigrún's last solo exhibition, The Future Ones, at Kunstschlager, Reykjavik, consisted of paintings and an installation.

Sigrún was born 1973 in Reykjavik, Iceland. She studied art at College of Breiðholt, The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts (BFA) and Pratt Institute in New York (MFA). She has also studied art theory and philosophy and graduated with an MA degree in philosophy from The University of Iceland in 2016. Sigrún is Dean of Fine Art Department of the Icelandic Academy of the Arts.
