Interlibrary loan

Interlibrary loans are loans from other libraries of books or journal articles that do not exist in the LHÍ library.

    • Interlibrary loans do not apply to loans from public libraries in the capital area. Borrowers are advised to seek services directly from those libraries.

    • Borrowers:
        • Find the publication yourself leitir.is and click on Search for available services

        • log in as users of the Iceland Academy of the Arts with an electronic ID or username and password

        • select Interlibrary loan í How to approach

        • tick Willing to pay

        • select Delivery point from the list

        • click on Send request

        • If the publication is not found on leitir.is.

        • click on the tab Interlibrary loan

        • log in with your electronic ID or username and password

        • fill out Request for interlibrary loan

        • tick Willing to pay

        • select Delivery point from the list

        • click on Send request

We process interlibrary loans as soon as possible and the loan period for data is 30 days, but you can request renewal.

Publications and articles are delivered to the library's reception desk in Stakkahlíð. Note that magazine articles are only delivered printed out.

A request for an interlibrary loan is binding and will be charged for unclaimed requests.
