Halldór Hansen Music Museum

Halldór Hansen had a large and good collection of music that he gave to the school when he bequeathed his belongings, and the material is located in the branch of the LHÍ library at Þverholt 11.

  • Books & Magazines

    About 1000 copies of books and magazines from Halldór's collection are registered in the Gegni library system and are searchable leitir.is. Most of the books are biographies of musicians (opera singers and singers) and professional books on music. They are all available for loan.

  • Cds

    Halldór had two thousand CDs that everyone has been registered on leitir.is. All the audio recordings are available for loan for 7 days, just like the library's other audio recordings.

  • Videos

    A large collection of opera videos accompanied Halldór's estate and they are mostly unrecorded. No decision has been made as to when or how registration will be made.

  • Records

    Most of Halldór's music collection is records, but he had about ten thousand albums, which are unfortunately currently inaccessible.
