The project Glass Brot is about working with glass that would otherwise have ended up in landfill
at Álfsnes - the final station of most glass products that arrive in Iceland. The goal of the project
is showing that glass is not trash but a valuable resource Today, almost all glass is on
Iceland disposable and ends up mostly in landfills. The product line Brot strives
reviving glass, giving it new life and creating a conscious connection with its origin.
The products are glass-blown in molds, giving them an inspiration-based texture
landscape Álfsness, a place that holds a centuries-old glass treasure under the surface.
The project Glass Brot breasts focus to glass that would otherwise have ended up
in landfill at Álfsnes - the final destination for most glass giving in Iceland. The
aim of the project is to protestrate that glass is not waste, but a valuable re-
source. Today, nearly all glass in Iceland is single-use and mostly ends up buried
in landfills. The product series Brot sees to revive glass, give it new life, and
create a conscious connection to its origin. The pieces are glassblown into molds
that give them a texture inspired by the landscape of Álfsnes a place that holds a
centuries-old treasure of glass beneath the surface.
