Cyclic Mechanicsms, Sprouts and Spit
French visual artist Julie Sjöfn Gasiglia works interdisciplinary and has lived in Iceland since 2013. her artistic work revolves around exploring accounts of the relationship between human beings and other living things, through an aqueous lens Experiments with methods to connect and communicate with different living things, both within the person himself as well as with other living things. Her background originally lies in design and painting, which she studied in France and Iceland.
In the woven network of existence, each loop connects to the next The dynamics of life create a delicate dance of biological processes, shaping rhizomes, root systems, a network of relationships between species This complex web casts intriguing shadows on the fluid and undefined boundaries that set Man apart from Nature.
Cyclic Mechanicsms, Sprouts and Spit is a sensory experience that calls for more than the reaction of reason, there is no right or wrong, nothing that needs to be understood, but perceived, used intuition to be able to get your bearings and understand natural intricacies.
Sip of water; flows through my stomach and makes me aware of the biosphere in myself, in the turbulent sea that my body is, a small ecosystemI affect its microbial biosphere and it affects me back, in mutual song It is nothing me or them, but rather all of us, who live together.
Continuous processing of a number of data and nutrients is a way to maintain itself as a machine.
Without my visible control, life springs in the most unlikely places.
I feel like an alga on the bottom of the sea, which the current gently pushes forward, the water holds me, I am protected by the environment that gave birth to me Yet, if this ecosystem disappears, I will continue to depend on it and chained to it.

In the woven network of existence, each spur fits into the next. The mechanics of life choreograph a delicate dance of biological processes, forging rhizomatic networks of interspecies relationships. This intricate web casts shadows of curiosity upon the fluid and speculative boundaries that differentiate Humans from Nature.
Cyclic Mechanicsms, Sprouts and Spit is a sensuous experience calling for a more-than-rational response, there is no right or wrong, nothing needs to be understood, but rather felt, using intuitive intelligence in order to make sense of natural intricacies.
Taking a sip of water; it glides through to my stomach, and make me aware of the variety of lives that I carry in the ocean that my body is, a small ecosystem. I influence its microbiome and it influences me back, in a song of reciprocity. There is no I or them, but rather the some of us all, co-existing.
Constantly processing a multitude of data and nutrients, as a means to stay afloat as a machine. Without any appropriate control of my own, life sprouts in the most unexpected places.
I feel like an algae at the bottom of the sea, gently nudged by the currents, held by the water, protected by the very environment that birthed me. Yet, should this ecosystem forsake me, I remain anchored in this ambiguous realm of combined reliance.
