Applications are now open for Young Soloists 2027, a competition that gives young musicians a unique opportunity to take the stage as soloists with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
The competition is intended for students in instrumentation and singing, aged 30 and under, who are Icelandic citizens or have lived in Iceland for at least one year.
The competition takes place over two rounds In the previous round, participants are evaluated based on the video footage submitted Those who advance participate in the second round, which will take place in early January 2027.
The winners of the Young Soloists 2027 will then perform as soloists at the Iceland Symphony Orchestra concert in Eldborg, Harpa, on April 23, 2027 under the direction of Samuel Lee.
Young soloists is a joint project of the Iceland Academy of the Arts and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, and for years has provided young musicians with a valuable opportunity to gain experience performing with a professional orchestra.
