Steinar Ari Kristmundsson began piano studies at the age of seven in Húsavík with Aladár Rácz. The interest in music has followed over the years and he completed his advanced degree from Hafnarfjörður's music school in the spring of 2021, under the guidance of Sigurðar Marteinsson. Steinar then continues to study more at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and graduates in the spring of 2024 with a bachelor's degree in singing and instrument teaching. His teachers are Peter Máté and Edda Erlendsdóttir. Steinar then continues to the Master's program in singing and instrument teaching and completes that program this spring.

Steinar has performed at a number of concerts in Iceland and abroad, he went with the school to Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Latvia during his bachelor's years at LHÍ. In addition, he has participated in the music program, the harvest festival of the music schools, as well as helping with the staging of IX. EPTA Piano Competition 2025. Along with his studies, Steinar has been teaching at Garðabær's music school and he aims for more teaching there this fall.
