ODEE// Sorry, but not sorry
In his lecture, ODEE gives an account of the performance „We're SORRY, gladly known as the Samherja performance here at home“ On May 11, 2023, foreign media received a press release with a false apology from Samherji, from the domain of Samherji.co.uk. It took full responsibility for the company's alleged actions in Namibia, claimed that the company would pay damages and pledge full support to the authorities at home and abroad. A few days later, on May 17, another press release came that it was a work of ideas and performance art by artist ODEE. The work, which was a graduate work for a bachelor's degree in art from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and was shown at a student group exhibition Rafall/Dynamo at the Reykjavík Art Museum, attracted enormous attention both at home and abroad.
