Linda van Deursen - The Self-evident Value of Images

Linda van Deursen will give an open lecture on Monday, April 27 at 18:00 at Bíó Paradís. The lecture is organized by the Iceland Academy of the Arts (@iceland_university_of_the_arts) and the Association of Icelandic Illustrators (@illustrators).
Graphic designer and educator Linda van Deursen lives and works in Amsterdam, Netherlands She co-founded the design studio Mevis & van Deursen with Armand Mevis in 1987 Over the years, they worked on projects for cultural institutions such as the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Documenta 14, the Venice Biennale and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago They have received numerous awards for their work, including a silver medal in the „Most Beautiful Books in the World“ competition, Leipzig.
Linda led the path of graphic design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie for years (2001 -2014) and taught at the Yale School of Art for about twenty years Concurrent work at her own design studio in Amsterdam, Linda is now a visiting lecturer in graphic design at EKA in Tallinn and at the Non Linear Narrative track at KABK in The Hague.

Linda served as the head of the Graphic Design Department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie for many years (2001 -2014) and has been a senior critic at the Yale School of Art. Alongside running her own studio in Amsterdam, she currently serves as a guest lecturer in Graphic Design at EKA in Tallinn and within the Non Linear Narrative program at KABK in The Hague.
