Karólína Eiríksdóttir studied at the Reykjavík School of Music and in the United States. She has worked in composition, teaching and various other musical jobs. Karólína has been on the boards of the Icelandic Composition Center, the Icelandic Composers Association, the Reykjavík Art Festival and the Iceland Academy of the Arts.
Karólína's orchestral works are 9 in number, all of them have been performed by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and many of them elsewhere. Karólína has written a number of works for solo instruments, chamber groups, soloists and choirs, as well as electronic works. Karólína's operas are six. Magnús María's opera, premiered in the Åland Islands in July 2014 and was subsequently performed around the Nordic countries. The opera was nominated for the Nordic Music Prize in 2016. The opera Lisbeta was commissioned on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Åland Islands' self-government and premiered there in 2021 and a year later in Helsinki. In 2021, the opera BLY was premiered by the Norrlandsoperan in Sweden.

Karolina Eiriksdottir was born in Reykjavík. She studied at the Reykjavik College of Music, where Thorkell Sigurbjornsson was her teacher of composition. She continued her studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and received masters degrees in composition and music history and musicology.
She has been active in Iceland's music life, as a composer, teacher and various other musical activities.
Among her works are solo and chamber pieces, orchestral pieces, computer music and six operas, among them Magnus Maria, premaired in Åland, July 2014.
