Today, sixteen students began studying a new course in the Department of Music of the Iceland University of the Arts:
Music · Innovation · Technology.
A big step is thus taken in music education in Iceland, but it is the first performer program at university level (B.Mus) devoted exclusively to rhythmic music, i.e. jazz; rock/pop; song and lyric writing; and sound art, sound processing and sound technology for alternative instruments.
The department's professional director is Dr. Phillip J. Doyle.
We wish the students, teachers and the Iceland University of the Arts a very happy day!

Here you can see the student group that attended the first course „Music sector I“ under the guidance of Gréta Salóme Stefánsdóttir, newly appointed associate professor at the department.
