Open call for Praxis performing arts congress LHÍ
The Performing Arts Department of the Iceland Academy of the Arts is advertising for donations to Praxis, the LHÍ performing arts congress, which will be held for the third time on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The congress is a platform for artistic experiments, knowledge creation and dialogue between the professional forum and the university community. At the same time, the congress is a place for the performing arts scene to come together and share methods and research, and think together for the future.
The theme of Praxis 2026 is „The Actor and the Role”" where there is an emphasis on the different modes of acting interpretation and the actor's work within the performing arts Applications must include a CV and a one-page report on the subject of the talk and the reason for the application Applications are open to all performing artists but it should be noted in the application how the contribution relates to Praxis' subject matter contributions are called for from the performing arts community, which may take the form of a lecture, workshop, seminar, etc.
Contributions shall be a maximum of 45 min with discussion There is no separate payment for participation in Praxis.
Applications are open from Monday, March 9, 2026 and must be submitted HERE. The application deadline is up to and including Monday, April 27, 2026.
