Iceland's design award will be presented at a ceremony in Gróska on Thursday 6 November 2025. The award is given for outstanding works in the field of design and architecture that promote quality of life, sustainability and value creation for society.

Nominated in three categories: Product, Place and Works, and in each category, three parties are nominated. The projects reflect the diversity and quality of Icelandic design today - from innovation in material use to social solutions and experiential design.

2025 nominations:

  • Product:
    • Oase- clay water container by Johanna Seelemann
    • MONEY- clothing line made of Icelandic wool from RANRA
    • Elja- mountain bike from Lauf Cycles
  • Place:
    • Social housing at Sjómannaskólait
    • Elliðaárstöð in Elliðaárdal
    • Stang - (Re)interpretation superstructure over excavation in Þjórsárdal
  • Works:
    • Lava forming- study of the utilization of lava in construction design
    • Depth- plastic-free paint made of calcareous algae
    • Fischersund- a sensory work that combines fragrance, music and art

In addition to the main award, the Iceland Design Award's Honorary Award and recognition for the best investment in design will be awarded.
