
The festival consists of nine concerts where piano works by 33 Icelandic composers will be performed together with lectures about the composers Þorkel Sigurbjörnsson and Jórunn Viðar.
There will also be talks about piano technique in Icelandic piano works and the characteristics of Icelandic piano works. The Music Center and Polarfonia will also present the music and phonograph versions of Icelandic piano works.
The program of the festival takes place in four places in Reykjavík, i.e. Iceland Academy of the Arts, Music High School, Hannesarholt and Salnum in Kópavogur.
About 50 performers, teachers and students from the country's music schools participate in the festival, while foreign guests of honor are:
Dr. Kristin Jonina Taylor from the University of Nebraska Omaha
Domenico Codispoti from the Conservatorio Guido Cantelli in Novara, Italy.
