That is nothing which will mold  you more which artists but that how well you the train and connects the intuition yours.  That one connectedg builds á honesty, that you seen honest we others and honest we you self. That you the embrace reasons that's it that you see the world with others eyes and that you dedicated you courage to that mediate that one vision to our the others í through yours creations. Therefore when we let's pretend then does all the body rebellion.”

Therefore, it was appropriate for the film producer Sigurjón Sighvatsson gave a celebratory speech:

I thank you for choosing the art - the way that does not necessarily lead to fame and fortune, but to a deeper presence.“

„We stand here today on the border between - not just education and work, but on the border between self-awareness and creativity. ” Because art is not just something you create. It's something you live.” - from Sigurjón's address.

Sigurjón cited the stirring words of painter Jean-Michel Basquiat, Frida Kahlo's self-understanding, artist Julian Schnabel's line of thought He quoted multi-artist Laurie Anderson, writer Margaret Atwood, visual artist Tolla, and filmmaker David Lynch.

„You're the art. You're the witness. You're the one who sees, and the one who performs“ - from Sigurjón's address.

Address by Kristína Eysteinsdóttir, rector of LHÍ

Dear guests, dear friends and colleagues, dear graduates!

Today we blow trumpets Today we celebrate milestones, your achievements, the fruits of years of work, exploration, knowledge-seeking and creativity.

Today is also another kind of turning point in the history of the University of the Arts because now for the first time in Iceland students with a university degree in film art graduate. The music that sounds here today is therefore related to all films in one way or another. It is worth noting that I am educated dramaturg and therefore never pass a good concept.

The music or rather its opposite is what I would like to turn my attention to today when I address you artists of the futureI would like to talk about what happens when the music goes out and we stand in silence and meet ourselves I would like to talk about the intuition and its importance.

One of my strongest memories from my childhood is a memory of a cochlea that was on the shelf at my grandparents' houseIn the stillness, I was able to put my ear right up to him and inside it sounded an entire ocean There was a whole world inside a small shell.

Sometimes there were calm and soothing waves, sometimes freezing and turbulent surf.

Our intuition is a bit like this cochlea. We need to put our ears to the bottom to hear it, but believe me when I tell you that what sounds there is possibly the most beautiful and important thing that you as artists can ever listen to. There, a whole world is revealed into a small shell.

Today I would like to encourage you to listen. Remember that intuition is the place where we need to close our eyes to see better.

Author Anais Nin said “ when we pretend, the whole body rebels.”

It's easiest to follow the flow From childhood, you're trained to listen to other people, your parents, teachers, really everyone other than yourself When I graduated from elementary school, I knew more about Norway than about myself. You're full of information and voices that have told you how the world works. In most cases, this information and voices are both important and correct, but then you'll experience a moment where doubt creeps up on you, a doubt that says I don't see the world quite like that. When it happens, I encourage you to stop and listen and if you really take the time, turn off all the stimuli and stop in the silence, you hear your intuition.

Keep in mind that consciousness it cries out but intuitive it whispers There is nothing that will shape you more as artists than how well you train and relate to your intuition That connection is based on honesty, that you are honest with others and honest with yourself That you embrace the reasons why you see the world with different eyes and that you adopt the courage to communicate that vision to the rest of us through your creations Because when we pretend, the whole body rebels.

Dear students,

All that is given is that everything will change Everything you see and experience today will change But remember that all change in the world begins in one person's mind and you can be that person.

In a world where uncertainty seems to be the only constant, intuition can be your most powerful compass Intuition is your most precious gift. Cultivate intuition and it will point you to new ways and push you towards brave decisions that reasoning alone cannot justify.

Research shows that intuition is the bridge between consciousness and subconsciousness Intuition weaves together all that you have learned with what you perceive beyond thoughtIntuition is magic It is the magic moment when you instinctively know what you are going to do before your mind has managed to discern why When you suddenly find the right form, words, sound or color appear.

You have to listen to others and the world for a very long time before you can start listening to yourself and your intuition needs to be trained You can and should adopt the knowledge, technique and strong foundation in everything you create as artists but once you have trained it for a number of years it becomes more effortless and it is precisely then that you can start training intuition better When you can go anywhere with all the techniques, knowledge and experience you have gained Like an athlete who exertively exerts himself French stage artist Artaud said precisely that artists are athletes of the heart.

Intuition is an anchor Intuition is a heartbeat and a trigger for innovation.

Intuition is a flash and sudden clarity that opens up new ways.

It is the space where the known and the unknown meet.

As artists, give you the independence and freedom to form your own way, pursue what interests you Temper your courage and humility at the same time, the willingness to listen to others while holding fast to your own vision Be willing to seek and get lost Only in this way can you find new ways of creating works of art consists largely in creating new puzzles and solving them The challenges you face, whether technical, environmental or social, require new thinking and bold action.

Graduates, as you step out into the world remember you are part of a legacy spanning generations and continents Art is not a luxury but a necessity You are here to share your voice, your vision of the world, the everyday, the spectacular, the small and the big.

In a rapidly changing world, the role of the artist has never been more important As technology evolves at an alarming rate and global challenges increase, art is a beacon - a light of hope, a catalyst for change, and a testimony of humanity.

Today we look ahead: to the infinite possibilities, freedoms and responsibilities that come with being an artist In a world that is faster than never before, the need for connection and some kind of meaning is stronger than ever When you leave this school, I urge you to take with you not only the education and knowledge you have gained here, but also to cultivate the intuitive Trust Compass.

Dear students,

The slogan „the personal is political“ gains its deepest meaning in the arts As artists of the future, you have the power to use your art not only to reflect the world but to reshape it There, intuition plays a key role, the ability to trust inner feeling, often beyond logical analysis At its core, intuition is deep and personal It is your inner voice that aligns what you do with your values and view of the world.

Philosopher Albert Camus described art as a rebellion - a statement of humanity in the face of the world's absurdity He saw rebellion not as a destructive force but as a creative transformation that rejects injustice and meaninglessness Next to rebellion, intuition stands as the cornerstone of creation.

One of the main functions of art is to ask questions and challenge the accepted, challenge accepted norms that determine who gets to create, what stories are told, and what identities are recognized As artists, your work challenges these limitations, create spaces for voices that have been silenced, and highlight narratives that have possibly been marginalized Art thus becomes a platform where dominant narratives are questioned and rethought

Camus considered artists to be the protector of truth He stressed that art must be free - free to oppose, ask and explore Namely, it is not what makes us different that divides us but our inability to recognize, accept and celebrate diversity.

Dear students,

Today is a beautiful moment. I wish you, your families and friends a very happy day. Now is the time to enjoy what has been achieved.

And remember that in you there lives an entire ocean in a small shell. Sometimes calm and soothing waves flow there, sometimes ice cold surf. Put your ear right to. Let what is heard there flow forward. Then step the wave. We will listen.
