Interns are requested to supervise and disseminate the exhibition Lavaforming, which is Iceland's contribution to the Venice Biennale in Architecture 2025. The Venice Biennale in Architecture is one of the most important events in the field of architecture on a global scale.

The biennial brings together parties working in the field of architecture and the development of the man-made environment, including representatives of states, municipalities, architects and designers, experts in the field of construction technology, manufacturers of building materials, investors and developers of buildings to name a few. In 2023, there were 63 nations that participated in the biennial and there were over 285,000 exhibition visitors and they came from all over the world.

A total of seven interns are being sought.

The period in question is:

-1 May to 30 June (2 months)
-1 May to 31 July (3 months)
-1 May to 15 September (4 1/2 months)
-30 June to 31 August (2 months)
-31 July to 30 November (4 months)
-31 August to 30 November (3 months)
-15 September to 30 November (2 1/2 months)

Who can apply?
-University students at all levels of higher education and up to a year after graduation

Main tasks and responsibilities:
-Monitoring the Icelandic cabin during your stay
-Reception of visitors and dissemination of exhibitions and information about architecture in Iceland
-Write a column about the biennial's exhibitions
-Media of content to MH&A
*Employees receive a good and detailed presentation of the Icelandic cabin from the team behind them
at Lavaforming before entering the internship.

Whatever to develop in the internship:
-Mediate architecture in speech and writing
-Communication skills
-Increase knowledge of global architecture

Qualifications:
-Independence, ambition and drive.
-Aptitude and interest in to express oneself in speech and writing about architecture.
-Very good English skills. Third language knowledge is an advantage.

Interns' responsibilities:
-Provide residential property
-Come to and from Venice

Grant is awarded during the stay:

Erasmus +: 606 Euros monthly
Air grant: 305 Euros
Center for Design and Architecture: 15 Euros daily, ticket to the biennial over the period.

Interns usually work 30 hours a week

The Icelandic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale:
-Summer opening: 11am-7.30pm
-Autumn opening: 10am-6.30pm (from October 1-November 23)
Closed on Mondays

The application must be accompanied by a CV and a cover letter detailing the reason for the application and justification of the person's skills in the internship. Information on which period is requested must also be included. The periods may be more than one requested.

Interns on behalf of MH&A and LHÍ are both accident and claims insured during their stay.
