The flute septet viibra followed up on their album, viibra, released in 2024, with a concert run during the year In May, viibra performed at Classical: NEXT which took place in Berlin this year, and in September the group performed at the music festival Hidden Notes in Stroud, England, as well as concerts in London and Reykjavík.
During the concert, the group performed works from the album by members and partners of the septet, including Berglindi María Tómasdóttir, professor at the music department and member of viibru and Bergrúna Snæbjörnsdóttir, associate professor at the music department. Viibra is a flute septet that explores the complex soundscape of the flute, founded in autumn 2016 with the help of Bjarkar in connection with the creation of her album Utopia.
Between 2018 and 2023, viibra toured with Björk around the world with the acclaimed Cornucopia show The members of viibru are active in the Icelandic music scene as performers, composers and teachers A picture from viibru's concerts at Hidden Notes.
