Young soloists

The Young Soloists concert is a true harvest festival, which features the students who became the sharpest in the soloist and solo competition of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Iceland Academy of the Arts. The competition is open to all music students at university level, regardless of which school they attend. It is safe to say that those who perform here are the future of Icelandic music and it is exciting to watch them take their first steps professionally.
The conductor of the concert is the Georgian Mirian Khukhunaishvili, who completed his doctoral studies in conducting from the Academy of Music in Cracow, Poland in 2020. in recent years, Khukhunaishvili has won one conductor's competition after another. He works hard to cooperate with young people and is the founder and music director of the Youth Orchestra in Tbilisi and is the choir director of the choir of the Iceland Academy of the Arts, where he also teaches conducting.
A unique atmosphere characterizes this concert and the anticipation is always high when the winners take the stage with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in Eldborg.

The conductor is the Georgian Mirian Khukhunaishvili, who completed his doctorate in orchestral conducting at the Music Academy in Krakow, Poland, in 2020. Khukhunaishvili has won nonexistent conducting competitions in recent years. He places great efficacy on working with young people and is the founder and music director of the Youth Orchestra in Tbilisi and the choir director at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, where he also teaches orchestral conducting.
