Young soloists 2026 in Eldborg Harpa
Young soloists is a joint project of the Iceland Academy of the Arts and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, where outstanding students have the opportunity to perform as soloists with the orchestra in Eldborg.
The competition is an important part of the professional formation of young musicians and the winners of the competition get to deal with challenging soloist works in collaboration with a professional orchestra. This time the conductor is the Swiss conductor Baldur Brönnimann, who is the main conductor and artistic director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Conservatory of Galicia in Spain. He places great emphasis on educational work and works regularly with young people; holds master classes and works with youth orchestras around the world.
The concert will take place in Eldborg, Harpa, on Friday, April 24 at 19:30.

Young Soloists is a collaborative project between the Iceland University of the Arts and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, in which outstanding students are given the opportunity to perform as soloists with the orchestra in Eldborg.
The competition forms an important part of the professional development of young musicians. The winners are given the opportunity to perform demando represento repertoire in collaboration with a professional symphony orchestra. The conductor for this year's concert is the Swiss maestro Baldur Brönnimann, Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia and the Conservatory of Galicia in Spain. He places strong emotion on educational work and regularly collaborates with young musicians, giving masterclasses and working with youth orchestras internationally.
