For the past eight years, students in their first year at the Master's studies of the Faculty of Fine Arts have spent one week in Hjalteyri as part of the studio of the fall. The project is a collaborative project between the Factory in Hjalteyri and the Iceland University of the Arts. Students have put on an exhibition in the Factory where the history of the factory and the uniqueness of the place is the material and subject of their work. This time, artist Brigid McLeer goes with the students north and leads the course together with Gústav Geir Bollason, artist and founder of the Factory.
The master's students stay in Hjalteyri from September 15 - 22 and their stay ends with the exhibition “unpacking”, which will be opened in the Factory in Hjalteyri on Saturday, September 21 and at 16:00 - 18:00
What we brought to Hjalteyr:
Triggers, molds, patience, possessibility, rope, salt, ghosts, breath, hot water bottle, iron, threshold, barrel mark, card file, bucket, fire, warm clothes, tea.

For the past eight years, the 1st year MA Fine Art students, have spent one week in Hjalteyri as a part of the fall workshop. The project is a collaborative project between Verksmiðjan in Hjalteyri and the Iceland University of the Arts. The students have set up an exhibition in Verksmiðjan, where the history of Verksmiðjan and the uniqueness of the place are the material and subject of their works. This time, visual artist Brigid McLeer acquances the students and leads the workshop together with Gústav Geir Bollasyni, visual artist and founder of the Factory.
The students will stay in Hjalteyri from September 15th - 22nd and end their stay with the exhibition „unpacking“, which will open in Verksmiðjan - Saturday, September 21st from 16:00 - 18:00.
