Óskar Guðjónsson's trio plays and chats in Dynjanda
One of our leading jazz players, saxophonist Óskar Guðjónsson, has recorded collaborations with two big stars of the jazz world; bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Jorge Rossy. They play some songs, chat and answer questions from students at Dynjanda on Thursday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. All welcome!

Jorge Rossy is a drum, vibraphone and marimbo, pianist and composer who has worked with well-known jazz musicians such as Brad Mehldau, John Abercrombie, Dave Binney, Steve Coleman, Tomasz Stanko, Charlie Haden, Wayne Shorter, Lee Konitz, Carla Bley and Joe Lovano He has also released over 30 albums under his own name or with others, leading different ensembles, such as the Jordi Rossy Vibes Quintet, Passport Quartet, Rossy & Kanan Quartet, Beck/Landolf/Rossy, Fox + Chris Cheek and Rossy & Vercher Quintet (Filantropia).

Thomas Morgan is a bassist with a unique approach to the instrument and outstanding musical understanding He has recorded and toured worldwide as a member of Paul Motian's ensembles, John Abercrombie Quartet, Dave Binney Quartet, Steve Coleman and Five Elements, and Tomasz Stanko New York Quartet, among many others He has also collaborated with Jakob Bro, Dan Tepfer, Jim Black, John Abercrombie, and Masabumi Kikuchi, and released an album in duet with guitarist Bill Frisell, Small Town.

Óskar Guðjónsson is a saxophonist and composer who has been a professional musician since 1991. he has played with many famous jazz musicians, both Icelandic and foreign, and released over 30 albums, either under his own name or in collaboration with others. He has also traveled the world with different bands and played countless concerts. He was a member of Mezzoforte from 1996 to 2012 and a co-founder and member of ADHD, which is one of the most popular jazz bands in the country. He has also written and played with Skúla Sverrisson, bassist and composer, and founded and played with MOVE, which looks for ways to find new approaches to his own material.
