STRAND
STRAND
Strand has the same meaning in both Swedish and German. In this exhibition, Alva Lobråten and Johann Joesten circle around Strand and water - what is present, and what only happens visible with within. Within a small room, the exhibition takes form as both a reading/performance and installation.
The Performance will start at 5 pm,
Sunday 7th of December, at GARG Bookstore.

I came to Iceland in search of feelings I've been missing. Without being sure of what those were I started looking for them in the landscape. Some I know I was longing for, others revealed those to me along the way.
The importation of coexisting with nature soon become clear to me; my surrounds had answers to questions I did not even have to ask. I tried to listen and found it the most by water. All come from water and all need water. The kelp joke to me and told me that we are the same Together we created poetry.
In the video I invite the viewer to reflect upon coexistence through new perspectives continuously created by water and its movement.

Visit the sea.
Stay until your body is cold enough to long for shelter.
Walk inland. Find the nearest construction site.
Ask the person working there if you can take the old wrought iron.
Look up the word wrought iron.
Measure your body with whatever you have at hand.
Cut wood.
Wrap the corrugated iron around these measures.
Build a shelter that think you awkwardly.
Shape it to fit the shoreline, as well as you.
Return to the sea and sit inside the shelter.
Look out.
Looking forward to see you there <3
