The first guest in the art department's lecture series in the spring of 2025 is Joe Keys. The lecture is open to everyone and takes place in lecture hall L193, Laugarnes from 13:00 - 14:00.
Joe Keys graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2021. he was born in Newcastle, UK but has lived in Iceland since 2018.
Joe likes to work with drawing, sculpture, poetry, and the relationship between these media The drawings are reflections on sculptural space, and are presented as three-dimensional drawings in the context of space He mostly works with found materials and residual materials, which he collects, arranges, and organizes.
Since moving to Iceland, Joe has worked extensively with printed materials, including, book works and their history both in Iceland and elsewhere This has led him to make many independent and collaboration-related publications in connection with exhibitions and events, such as Stations of the Cross, ELSE, George and Tammy, Explanation Park and many more.
Joe has participated in a number of group exhibitions and solo exhibitions in Iceland, Great Britain, Greece and Finland, to name just a few.
