Product design course of the Iceland Academy of the Arts:
Opportunity is a group exhibition of aspiring product designers of the Iceland Academy of the Arts“ product design program. The projects of the exhibition have in common to demonstrate a number of opportunities when it comes to local raw materials and production. Projects with traditional and non-traditional materials; timber, titanium, fur, shit and skate raise questions about the future of production in Iceland, whether it matters at all? what is working for? and whether new methodologies, valuations and mindsets can open up new opportunities?

Rafnar:
The movement and form at sea examines how individual Icelandic product development became a reality to meet the real need of seafarers in the challenging conditions of the North Atlantic. Rafnar ehf. was founded in Reykjavík by Össur Kristinsson, one of the country's most productive entrepreneurs, who used decades of experience in design and innovation to deal with a fundamental challenge in navigation: Reducing impact and pressure among those working at sea. The result was a patented hull that has shaped both the appearance of boats and the experience of those on board.

At Design March 2026, the Furniture and Interior Architects Association (FHI) will present the exhibition The Interior Architect - an experience that invites the public into the interior architects' mental space Our goal is to highlight what is often invisible: the thinking, the analysis and the multi-layered work that lies behind each space.
