Infrastructure aesthetics, interfaces and ethics of engagement
Through her work and artistic creation, Stine Marie Jacobsen has developed an artistic method that affects public spaces and public discourse Rather than creating independent objects, she works on long-term collaborative projects through active participation of citizens, students, legal experts, researchers and institutions.
Her work focuses on collaborative and career-based work practices that occur on a common social level where participants from various backgrounds are brought together to explore how influence, responsibility, and collective decision-making are shaped Through these projects that take place at the intersection of art, teaching, law, and civil infrastructure, questions of engagement, power relations, consent, and accountability are addressed.
Jacobsen does not see public space as a neutral background but a controversial and contractual field shaped by social, political and economic conditions In the lecture, Stine Marie Jacobsen will present infrastructure aesthetics, ideas about the interface and ethics of participation as well as discuss the development of art in communities and public spaces in the coming years.
