About the lecture:

Ólafur K. In the lecture on November 14, Anna Dröfn Ágústsdóttir, a historian and lecturer at the department of design, discusses the book Óli K. which is published on the same day. It tells about the life of Óla K. but he lost his father young, was a teenager when Iceland was occupied and sailed in a convoy to the United States during the war years to study photography in New York and filmmaking with Paramount Pictures in Hollywood. Anna Dröfn will discuss the trigger behind the research and discuss the collaboration with Kjartan Hreinsson, the photographer and graphic designer, who designed the book and edited the image together with Anna Dröfn. She will trace how they went together through a huge gallery of images that counts around one hundred and eighty thousand images and selected images for a book that deals with photographers and the history of a nation from his point of view.

Anna Dröfn Ágústsdóttir, historian and lecturer at the University of the Arts, has previously published the popular books Reykjavík that didn't happen and Laugavegur which she wrote with architect Guðna Valberg.
