On the occasion of Misvíðir, a joint project of the fashion design program of the Iceland Academy of the Arts and the Red Cross Clothing Collection, will take place for the tenth time this year, a festival will be held in the Nordic House and Gróska on the 22nd-24th. For ten years, second-year students of the fashion design program have designed a clothing line made entirely from unsaleable clothing and textiles collected in the Red Cross Clothing Collection The results of the course have been shown at a fashion show, in installation and in fashion photographs every year, and now there is an occasion to celebrate it.
Friday, November 22 at 12.30-16 on this occasion, a seminar will be held in the Nordic House entitled „Fashion and Environment“. The symposium is organized by the fashion design program of the Iceland Academy of the Arts, the Red Cross Clothing Collection and the Environment Agency.
The subject of the symposium is the state of fashion and fashion design in Iceland today, the environmental impact of the clothing industry, and the cycle of textiles Among the speakers on the agenda are fashion designers, producers, and teachers within the profession The program will be broadcast as it gets closer.
After the program, the official opening of the retrospective will be “Dismission in the ten-year-old in the lobby of Norræna hús, and subsequently an exhibition will open with the installations of current second-year students in Gróska.
