Kelly Jazvac will discuss her art practice which crosses intersections of sculpture, installation, plastic, science, and ecology. She is currently an artist in residence in New York City as part of the Conseils des Arts et Lettres du Québec's studio program. Here she is carrying out a year-long research project on non-toxic art materials, waste management and plastic pollution research.

Kelly Jazvac makes art that explorations relations between the material of plastic and consumerism, eco-systems, empathy and apathy. Jazvac is also part of a plastic pollution research team called The Synthetic Collective, which includes scientists, and humanists. The work of this research group is highly influential on Jazvac's artistic practice. This lecture is a part of a lecture series, held every semester in the Fine Arts department, and is open across departments and to the public. In six lectures during the semester, experts in the field of art and exhibition production will discuss their own research, experiments and artistic creation.
