Hreinn Friðfinnsson, was born 1943 on a farm in the Valleys He lived most of his life in Amsterdam and was a pioneer in conceptual art in Iceland as well as abroad Hreinn had a prolific career and gained international recognition as an extremely important visual artist Hrein's ideas are poetic and playful, often dealing with narratives, nature and time. It can be almost anything: photography, history, tracing, atmosphere, scientific experiment, paint stick or secret Hreinn died in 2024.
Styrmir Örn Guðmundsson is an artist and art teacher He worked in the years 2009-2024 as an assistant to Hrein Friðfinnsson.
Styrmir will discuss Hrein's work and share his experience as his assistant in Amsterdam.

Styrmir Örn Guðmundsson is a visual artist and art teacher. From 2009 to 2024, he worked as an assistant to Hreinn Friðfinnsson.
Hreinn Friðfinnsson was born in 1943 at Bær in Dalir, Iceland. He spent most of his life in Amsterdam and was a pioneer of conceptual art in Iceland as well as internationally. Hreinn had a prolific career and gained international recognition as an exceptionally important artist. His ideas were poetic and playful, often discussing with storytelling, nature, and time. His work could take almost any form: a photograph, a story, a trace, a atmosphere, a scientific experiment, a painted stick, or a secret.
Clean passed away in 2024.
