Halldór Hansen's Music Day

Pediatrician Halldór Hansen left behind a large collection of music with about 10,000 records, which he bequeathed to the University of the Arts in a will together with his other possessions that were to go to a special fund in his name. The main goal of the fund is to strengthen the structure and support the music collection of the Iceland University of the Arts and to provide an annual grant to outstanding music students.

The board of the fund consists of Kristín Eysteinsdóttir, rector of the Iceland University of the Arts and chairman, Þóra Einarsdóttir, director of film art, music and performing arts at the Iceland University of the Arts, secretary and Pétur Jónasson, dean of the department of music of the Iceland University of the Arts, co-director Magnús Lyngdal Magnússon is deputy.
