GESTAGANGUR // MARÍA GÍSLADÓTTIR AND ALMA SIGURÐARDÓTTIR //THE VENICE REGISTER 60 YEARS OLD, 1964 - 2024
In May 1964 was The Venice Charter sadopted at II. International Conference of Reconstruction Architects and Technicians of Venice The Venice Register is approved on the basic principles or criteria (e. guidelines) on the preservation and reconstruction of monuments and monuments Subsequently, the international preservation organization ICOMOS was founded to follow up on the agreement. The Icelandic Department of ICOMOS is hosting the lecture that discusses the content of the Venice Register and its impact on house protection in Iceland.
Alma Sigurðardóttir has a BA degree in architecture from the Glasgow School of Art, an MA degree in Art Education from the Iceland University of the Arts and an MSc degree in building design and preservation from the University of Strathclyde. Alma works as a project manager at the building department of the National Museum of Iceland as well as being on the board of the international preservation organization ICOMOS in Iceland.
María Gísladóttir is an architect, with a BA degree from the Iceland University of the Arts and an MA from the School of Architecture in Aarhus. María works as an architect at the Icelandic Heritage Foundation.
