Herzog & de Meuron is a Swiss architectural firm founded 1978 by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron The practice is one of the most prestigious and progressive in the field of architecture and has inspired many well-known architects working today The firm's work covers a wide range of & sports facilities, museums, hospitals, urban planning, office buildings, etc. The studio is characterized by a long design process, detailed research and diverse building types Among the most well-known projects are the Tate Modern in London, the Allianz Arena in Munich and the Philharmonie in Hamburg Herzog & de Meuron won the 2001 Pritzker Prize.
Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron have run the salon for nearly 50 years and have taught at various universities, including ETH Zurich and the Graduate School of Design at Harvard The salon regularly admits young and promising students for internships and entrusts them with participation in large construction projects.

Þorlákur Jón Ingólfsson was born and raised in Reykjavík (1987). Þorlákur began studying at Borgarholtsskóli's multimedia program and later studied pre-med at the Art School in Reykjavík. Þorlákur graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture from the Iceland University of the Arts in 2023.
Þorlákur has worked in various fields of architecture and design, including working on planning projects for the City of Reykjavík, participating in competitions, conducting research and coming to various design-related projects. Þorlákur also has a long career as a mountain guide. In the years 2023 and 2024, Þorlákur was doing an internship at the well-known Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron in Basel.
Þorlákur is currently studying for a master's degree in architecture at the Iceland University of the Arts.
About
Þorlákur Jón Ingólfsson was born and raised in Reykjavík (1987). He began his studies on the multimedia track at Borgarholtsskóli and later studied traditional art at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts. Þorlákur graduated with a BA in Architecture from the Iceland University of the Arts in 2023.
He has worked across various fields of architecture and design, including contributing to planning projects for Reykjavík City, participating in competitions, conducting research, and taking part in diverse design-related projects. Þorlákur also has an extensive background as a mountain guide. In 2023 -2024 he completed an internship at the renovated Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron in Basel.
Þorlákur is currently pursuing a master's degree in Architecture at the Iceland University of the Arts.
